Cyd Charisse is an editorial HMUA and hair colorist in NYC. She has styled hair for top designers such as Stella McCartney,Baja East, Ovadia & Sons, Jenny Packman, and many more. She has also been mentored by some of the top artists in her field, such as Kevin Ryan, Frank Rizzieri, Shannon King, Jon Reyman and Campbell Mcauley.
Charisse has been nominated for the Behind The Chair One Shot Hair Awards and published in a variety of magazines including Nylon, Tidal, Please, Paper and Livid Magazine. You can also see her work on-air for the Home Shopping Network with top brands such as Con-air, Tru Beauty and Voloom.
Along with her editorial work, Charisse has spent the last 10 years in the industry working with Aveda Institutes South as a Masters Educator where she spent her time training in make-up and hair color.
She is also the co-creator of Destroy The Hairdresser, a new professional coaching model for the current generation of hairdressers.
When not on set or backstage, you can find her creating transformational colors at Hair & Co BKLYN. Cyd Charisse currently resides in New York, New York.
